Chapter 9

I have really enjoyed reading the things in this book and I think it's great how they touch on literacy and the fact that technology is an important thing. There will come a day when we don't write things on paper any more and people need to be prepared for that. I agree totally with them about research being at the tips of our fingers because information is just a click away. They say there is going to be a big shift in how we teach our students and how we learn but I believe the shift has already started. We are already making technology more available to our students and showing them new resources everyday, it is soon going to be a strange day when someone does not have access to a computer or the internet.

  1. I agree that many big changes are upon us in how we teach - since the plan under NCLB have clearly not worked, perhaps curriculum coordinators will wise up to the idea that the incorporation of technology will be a key to active and effective learning in the future. At the very least it will save money, and that seems to carry a lot of weight in the world of education in this environment.
